Patricia is currently a reading specialist in the Commack School District with over 26 years of experience in education. She has taught reading at the intermediate, middle school and high school levels, supporting a wide range of learners. Patricia holds certifications in both elementary and special education, and holds a masters degree in reading. She is also a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner (W.D.P.), specializing in structured literacy instruction to support struggling readers. She is dedicated to integrating innovative, research-based strategies and emerging technologies to enhance reading instruction and meet the diverse needs of today’s learners. Patricia actively participates in ongoing professional development and stays current with best practices in literacy instruction. In addition to her work in the classroom Patricia is an instructor for NYCTD, where she teaches courses including Emotional Literacy, Enhancing Your Reading Instruction and Using AI to Transform Reading Instruction.
